Information we process
The Hat Exchange processes information needed to provide and secure the service. This can include your public wallet address, wallet authentication information, transaction requests, coin metadata, uploaded images, IP address, approximate location, device and request information, and records of how the service is used. Public blockchain activity is available independently of us.
After you acknowledge the visitor notice, we store its version in your browser’s local storage under hat-exchange:visitor-notice. This preference is not a wallet signature or an account. Clearing site storage removes it and causes the notice to appear again. If storage is unavailable, the acknowledgement lasts for the current tab.
How information is used
We use this information to operate wallet connections, prepare launches and swaps, normalize uploaded images, publish coin metadata, display market and burn history, enforce geographic restrictions, prevent abuse, diagnose faults, and protect the service. We do not use your wallet assets without a transaction you authorize.
Service providers and public networks
Providers may process data for us when they host the site, run databases, store files or provide blockchain and market data. These currently include Vercel and Neon, alongside public network and market infrastructure. They process information under their own terms and policies.
Wallet addresses, transactions, token metadata and permanently pinned files can become public and may be retained indefinitely by blockchain and distributed-storage networks. We cannot erase or alter data that those public networks retain.
Retention, choices and security
We keep operational records for as long as needed to provide and secure the service, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Submitted public images and metadata may remain available indefinitely. You can disconnect your wallet and clear local storage through your browser. No internet or blockchain system is completely secure.
Updates
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the current version.
